Looking for a Caribbean Quarantini? Try these 3 easy recipes to bring a bit of the resort life to your home!
Easy Caribbean Cocktails
Why travel to an all-inclusive resort? One of the best reasons is the chance to try a variety of delicious food and Caribbean cocktails (with or without alcohol) and get a true flavour of your destination. There is nothing like arriving at your resort and taking that first refreshing sip while gazing out at the crystal blue ocean.
At this moment in time we cannot travel but dreaming of my next trip inspired this post so I could share some of my favourite recipes that you can make at home and bring a little bit of the Caribbean to you!
The Bahama Mama (The Bahamas)
- ½ fluid oz rum
- ½ fluid oz coconut-flavored rum
- ½ fluid oz grenadine syrup
- 1 fluid oz orange juice
- 1 fluid oz pineapple juice
- 1 cup crushed ice
Combine all ingredients including crushed ice in an electric blender. Blend until the drink’s consistency is slushy!
The Pina Colada (Puerto Rico)
- 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
- 1 oz white rum
- ¼ cup coconut milk
Combine all ingredients together in a blend and puree until smooth. If the mixture is too thick add more coconut milk to blend. Garnish with fresh pineapple slices, maraschino cherries and a cute paper umbrella!
The Mojito (Cuba)
- 10 fresh mint leaves
- ½ lime, cut into 4 wedges
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 1 ½ fl oz white rum
- ½ cup club soda
Place the mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into a glass and use a muddler to crush the mint and lime. This will release the mint oils and lime juice. Add 2 more lime wedges and the sugar, then muddle again to release more lime juice. ** Do not strain the mixture **. Fill the glass almost to the top with ice. Pour the rum over the ice and fill the glass with carbonated water. Stir and add more sugar as needed. Garnish with remaining lime wedge.
What’s your favourite Caribbean drink? Does it taste better at home, on a beach or onboard a cruise ship?
